Bringing 25+ years of expertise as a Captain and Fleet Manager, he embodies TAIT’s passion for delivering joyful luxury on the water. Serving the South Florida and North East markets, he ensures the journey only begins at the sale. His comprehensive maritime background—from technical engineering to precise vessel operations—allows him to intimately understand client needs, navigate ownership complexities, and open his contact book to protect their investment, delivering a discrete, lasting partnership.
As a Miami local for over 15 years, he couples this operational foundation with extensive charter expertise spanning the Florida Coast, the Keys, the Bahamas, the Hamptons, Northeast waters, and the Mediterranean. Driven by a pure passion for the ocean, he provides an invaluable, 360-degree consulting approach to the yachting lifestyle. Instead of just facilitating transactions, he leverages his firsthand experience to expertly advise clients on vetting top-tier crew—including Captains, Engineers, and specialized Dive or Freediving guides. Furthermore, he consults on creating elite guest adventures, from setting up premium sportfishing and spearfishing programs to designing bespoke onboard culinary experiences.

Bruce was born and raised along California’s coast, between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. A formative stint living in Grenada during his late teens likely sparked his lifelong passion for the ocean, sailing, and the tropics. His early maritime career included captaining charter boats throughout the Caribbean, running whale-watching tours in Santa Barbara, and completing numerous offshore deliveries. These experiences eventually led him to Sag Harbor, where in 1982, Bruce founded Tait Yachts as a family-run brokerage. His daughter, Danielle joined the company in 1989 and now leads the company and its charter division. Bruce’s work in yacht sales, commissioning, and management took him across the globe, and his energetic, hands-on approach helped build long-standing client relationships and strong industry connections. An avid racer, Bruce competed in prestigious regattas including Antigua Race Week, the Marion and Newport-Bermuda Races, Block Island Race Week, the Heineken Regatta, and Les Voiles de St. Tropez.
